Third-year VATEL students at the University of Donja Gorica, as part of their Human Resource Management (HRM) course, had the opportunity to explore contemporary challenges and practices in the hospitality sector through a dedicated research assignment.
The topic of the research project was: "The Role of Internal Dynamics and HR Practices in Fostering Innovation in the Hospitality Sector", with the scientific article "Internal Dynamics and Innovation: An Interdisciplinary Review and Future Research Agenda", published as part of the EmpowerHR4Inno project, serving as the foundation for the research.
The objective of the project was for students to analyze how internal dynamics—including HR practices and absorptive capacity—affect a hotel’s ability to generate and implement innovation. Through this task, students identified key internal factors and human resource approaches that contribute to the creation of an innovative environment in the modern hospitality industry.
This activity not only enhanced students’ research and analytical skills, but also provided practical insights into the connection between human resource management and innovation—an essential element of competitiveness in the hospitality sector.
