Optimization of Parking System in City of Zagreb

Rješavanje problema parkiranja u gradovima predstavlja jedan od najvećih izazova kako za gradske vlasti tako i za prometne inženjere. Problem parkiranja je, stoga, jedan od vodećih problema grada Zagreba. S obzirom na to da je korištenje osobnog automobila u stalnom porastu, automatski se povećava i potražnja za parkiranjem. Iz tog razloga treba ponuditi optimalna rješenja koja će zadovoljiti potražnju i riješiti probleme koje donosi neučinkovit parkirni sustav. U ovom radu dat će se pregled parkirne ponude i potražnje. Također će se analizirati postojeće stanje vezano za javni prijevoz putnika i tarifnu politiku. Ponudit će se više rješenja od kojih se izdvajaju optimizacija javnog prijevoza putnika, promjena tarifne politike, uvođenje Park&Ride sustava, te izgradnja podzemnih garaža. Na kraju rada dat će se i okvirni financijski troškovi realizacije predloženih rješenja.Resolving the parking problem in cities is one of the biggest challenges for both city authorities and traffic engineers. Parking problem is therefore one of Zagreb's leading problems. Given that the use of a personal cars is in constant growth, the parking demand is automatically increased. For this reason, it is necessary to offer optimal solutions that will fulfill demand and solve problems that an inefficient parking system brings. This thesis will give an overview of parking supply and demand. It will also analyze the existing situation regarding public passenger and tariff policy. More solutions will be offered from which the optimization of public passenger transport, tariff policy changes, the induction of the Park&Ride system and the construction of underground garages will be highlighted. At the end of the thesis, the financial cost of implementing the proposed solutions will be given
